About Us

About the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales

Founded in 1920, the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales is one of Australia’s oldest aviation organisations and a not-for-profit flying club based at Camden Airport.

We exist to support safe, accessible and community-based aviation through flight training, aircraft hire, member flying, youth aviation pathways, volunteering and a welcoming home for people who love aviation.

Our mission

RACNSW exists to advance safe, accessible and community-focused aviation through flight training, member flying, youth engagement, volunteering and the preservation of our aviation heritage. For more than a century, the Club has helped people take their first steps into flying and become part of Australia’s general aviation community.

How our fees support our purpose

As a not-for-profit organisation, RACNSW does not distribute profits to private owners or shareholders. Fees from flight training, aircraft hire, membership and club activities are reinvested into our aircraft, training operations, safety systems, facilities, equipment, member services and community aviation programs.

Recognised for our contribution

RACNSW has been recognised nationally for its contribution to general aviation, including being named Aero Club of the Year. This reflects the work of our instructors, volunteers, members and supporters in building a strong, safe and welcoming aviation community at Camden Airport.

What we do

RACNSW provides a range of aviation services, programs and opportunities, including:

Flight training from introductory flights through to advanced qualifications

First-time aviation experiences

Aircraft hire and member flying

School holiday flying training camps and youth aviation pathways

Volunteer opportunities and club activities

Aviation heritage, community events and general aviation advocacy

A club for pilots, students, volunteers and aviation supporters

The Royal Aero Club of New South Wales is more than a flight training organisation. It is a community of people who share a passion for aviation, from first-time students and private pilots to instructors, volunteers, aircraft owners, families and supporters.

Whether you want to learn to fly, return to aviation, volunteer, become a member or simply experience flight for the first time, RACNSW would be pleased to welcome you.
